In the past time, despite facing many disadvantages in weather and the Covid-19 pandemic, the project implementation units have been mading efforts to speed up the progress in the best possible conditions. Up to now, the final works of the Phu Bai International Airport T2 Terminal project have been gradually completed. Construction units are speeding up to put the terminal into operation in the next few months, to meet the increasing demand for air travel.

Phu Bai International Airport T2 Terminal project has a capacity of 5 million passengers per year. With the idea of simulating Ngu mountain, its architecture is very unique, and modern and promotes special characteristics of Hue's culture. This unique idea will make a strong impression on passengers whenever they come to Phu Bai International Airport.

The perspective of Phu Bai International Airport T2 Terminal

The terminal is invested in modern equipment and advanced aviation technology, providing many high-quality facilities to serve passengers. It has two altitudes and three floors (including the 1st floor, mezzanine floor, and 2nd floor).

- The main layout of the 1st floor is an arrival lobby, conveyor belt, operation control room, entry area, port authority, customs, aircrew room, VIP lounge, lost luggage room, electrical engineering rooms, security control rooms, medical rooms, service areas, and restrooms.

- The mezzanine floor includes offices of airlines, air conditioner rooms, and restrooms.he mezzanine floor includes offices of airlines, air-conditioned rooms, and restrooms.

- The 2nd floor includes a departure lobby, check-in area, security control, exit area, boarding area, VIP lounge, offices, service area, and restrooms.

The passenger boarding bridge system includes four bridges, of which three ones having code C and one double bridge

Along with Chan May Port, Phu Bai International Airport plays a greatly important role in connecting and diversifying means of transport, exploiting the potential and available advantages, and creating a driving force for the promotion of socio-economic development for Thua Thien Hue province and for the whole region, including promoting tourism development.

The construction of the T2 Terminal contributes to meeting the travel needs of local people and attracting tourists and investors. Hence, it also contributes to the socio-economic development according to the orientation of Thua Thien Hue province.

To prepare for the new T2 Terminal project, which is about to be completed and put into operation, the Department of Tourism is currently working with relevant units, travel agencies, and airlines (Vietjet, Viettravel Airlines...) to promote the opening of new routes (including international routes) and increase the frequency of flights to Phu Bai International Airport to increase the number of visitors to Hue.
